Meeting minutes

February 10, 2013

We are looking for members of the Team to take charge and coordinate at least one opportunity to expand and maintain Mt Vernon Place UMC outreach as the hands and feet of Christ.

Discussion items:

Adding to team - Phil & Erin Cox attended this meeting

Leadership of team members - agreed to take an active involvement as team members

Congregational involvement in outreach

Use of Church outside of worship times as an evangelism tool

Actions:

•Open Church starting the Saturday prior to Easter from 11:00 - 1:00 and running until we run out of volunteers to staff. Target will be to have this running all the way through November. We will require at least people at the Church during that period. All team members agreed to fill a slot on a sign up list. Jeff Schram will circulate a sign up list.

•Explore a movie night in the sanctuary. Possibly Wednesday evening. Tracy has mentioned "God on Trial"

•Set up forums on relevant issues. Immigration reform was discussed.

•Establish a presence for the Church for all events happening in Mt Vernon Square. Heather St. Clair said she would work a group to make this happen. First large event is Flower Mart in May.
