Craig Moore, Pastor

Craig Moore is appointed as a local pastor on-loan from the Texas Annual Conference at Mount Vernon Place UMC. He is a certified candidate for ministry hoping to find a permanent home in the Baltimore-Washington Conference. Craig is a native of Katy, Texas. He is the youngest of three boys, a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and a 2010 graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary. He has worked with at-risk children and youth for Project Transformation in Dallas, has been the intern pastor at Culmore UMC in Falls Church, Va., and was the four-time hula hoop champion at Diane Winborn Elementary in Katy, Texas.

Homeretta Ayala, Music Director

Ms. Ayala is the Director of Music Ministries at Mt. Vernon Place UMC. She holds a Bachelors in Music Education from Florida State University, A Masters in Music Education from Towson State University, a Masters in Library Media from Western Maryland and is currently receiving a Masters certificate is ESOL from the University of Maryland. She has been actively involved in church music as organist, choir director and/or music director for the past 43 years. Her choirs have performed in the Macy’s Day Parade, America Sings in Washington D.C. and performed throughout England. She has presented concerts in Europe, the Virgin Islands and Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania. She is a published composer.
